Introducing Creative Sightings

I’m happy to announce a new section to my site called Creative Sightings. Which will be used as a showcase for work that I love, done by other creatives. All fields of design will be featured, be it advertising, architecture, graphics, illustration, interactive, product or web.

There were a couple of reasons why I chose to add this additional section to my site. Firstly, I wanted a way to share all of the great pieces of art and design that I see online. I already share links of this type on Twitter, as well as other types of links to do with Apple, Gadgets and news in general.

However, I didn’t want to post all these links on Creative Sightings, I’d rather focus on just art and design in all their forms. And it won’t be just a collection of all the latest examples released, instead, I will hand pick what goes on and only choose those which I find interesting or exciting.

The second reason for starting Creative Sightings, is with the aim for it to attract new visitors and hopefully give them enough new content so that they return. As those of you who are regulars will know, I haven’t been posting new articles each week as intended, though I will be increasing the frequency this year.

However, with Creative Sightings I can post much more frequently because I don’t have to write the content. Each post is basically a link to an article already online, with some text from me and a couple of images to give a taster. So that if the reader is interested to find out more, they can click a link to be taken to the source of the article. I believe this setup benefits all involved and should allow me to better showcase people than I can using Twitter alone.

I hope you will take a look at this new addition to my site, and find it a useful source for great design, selectively chosen. Also, although I will be sourcing articles to go on myself, I’m also hoping to receive loads of excellent suggestions. So if you see a post online featuring a brilliant piece of design, then please get in touch using the contact form. I look forward to receiving those soon!

Update

Creative Sightings has changed since this post, it now appears alongside regular articles on the home page, as a regular post featuring a collection of creative sightings.
