3D printed robots

Now this has to be every little boy’s dream (and probably some bigger ones too), being able to design their own robot and have it made into a real life object.

Well now it’s possible thanks to My Robot Nation, a company that lets you customise various aspects of the robots design online, which is then made using a 3D colour printer and shipped to your door.

I would have loved one of these when I was a boy, however, it should be pointed out that these are not meant to be toys for small children due to their ‘ceramic-like’ material, instead they are intended as collectables. As an adult though, I’m far more fascinated by the technology behind these – the process of 3D printing totally blows my mind, it just seems so futuristic, far more so than the idea of robots.
